NOT EVERY CAT responds to valerian or catnip. This is determined genetically. If your cat doesn't seem interested, no worries - we're happy to help! We recommend limiting playtime to around 20 minutes and supervising your cat when they're enjoying the pillows.

MATERIAL: These pillows are crafted from soft, high-quality cotton and polyester. In the center of each pillow is a small ball filled with 100% natural and wonderfully aromatic dried valerian root or dried catnip leaves.

THE EFFECTS OF VALERIAN AND CATNIP ON FELINES: The influence of valerian and catnip on our indoor cats is quite similar. The natural, essential oils of these plants likely mimic the pheromones cats produce during mating season. This causes many cats to enter a trance-like state when they encounter the (dried) catnip leaves or valerian roots. They'll rub against them, roll on the floor, or dash around the house excitedly!

USAGE RECOMMENDATION: To prevent your cats from being constantly exposed to these aromatic compounds (as valerian, in particular, has a very strong, spicy scent!), and to help them enjoy the toys for longer, we recommend giving them breaks and returning the pillows to their box after no more than 20 minutes of play. For safety, always supervise your cats when they're playing with the pillows.
